Chickenfoot kicked off their Different Devil 2012 Tour with two sold out shows in Lake Tahoe over the Cinco de Mayo weekend and according to Mad Anthony, “If the first shows in Tahoe were any indication, this is gonna be one kick ass tour!!”

Chickenfoot Display at Hard Rock in Vegas

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has recently unveiled their new Chickenfoot display featuring Mike and Joe’s guitars, Chad’s bass drum head, the Chicken Man suit from the “Big Foot” video and a giant wall of chicken feathers!

The display is just inside the main entrance to the hotel. Check out a short video clip shot by Mrs. Mad Anthony over the weekend:

Mad Anthony Guests on Bret Michaels Solo Record

Mad Anthony recently lent his bass chops and background vocals to Bret Michaels who is putting together a solo record with many of his friends throughout the music industry.

The record is tentatively slated for a summer release and Mike joined Ace Frehley and Michaels to record Poison’s “Nothin’ But a Good Time.” Other musicians on the upcoming disc include Joe Perry, Loretta Lynn and Lynrd Skynrd.

R.I.P. Ronnie Montrose

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ronnie Montrose yesterday. Besides being one of rock’s early guitar icons, he was a friend and big influence on the way we wanted the first Van Halen album to sound like. I remember all of us (VH) wanting Ted Templeman, who produced the first Montrose album, to make us sound big like them!! Van Halen opened for Ronnie on a bunch of shows during our first tour in ’78, and I’ve jammed with Ronnie numerous times since. He was always great to hang with, and very dedicated to his craft. My condolences go out to his family, friends, and Sammy, Dennie Carmassi, and Bill Church, the original Montrose band. Ronnie, you touched all of us.

The 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Award nominations are out and Mad Anthony has been nominated in the Best Bassist category!

The winners in each category will be determined by public online voting at GOLDENGODSAWARDS.COM and will be announced live at the 2012 REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARDS SHOW at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on April 11. The show will be broadcast live on XBOX LIVE and on the Revolver and Xbox LIVE Facebook pages worldwide.

Chickenfoot have just announced the Different Devil Tour which kicks off with a pair of shows in Lake Tahoe May 4th and 5th, 2012! The tour runs through early June with shows across the US along with a stop in Canada.

Michael’s business partner Brad Fanshaw of bonspeed is the team captain in the 2012 season of Car Warriors.

The new season premieres February 24 on Speed TV at 8PM EST – right after the Daytona Truck Race coverage ends.

Car Warriors is a competition unlike any other. Every week, two of the country’s most talented and colorful local garages will have one crazy challenge: Build an ENTIRE CAR from a piece of junk – in just 48 hours. It’s the ultimate car building competition!
